Hotel Las Palmas is your home away from home on this tropical island paradise, Isla Mujeres, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices.
We are a family run hotel (three generations of women, mother-daughter and grand-daughter). Naturally, our place is a very unpretentious accommodation with a casual, friendly atmosphere. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll.
Without even having to leave your Island home, there are many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a dipping style pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - or to enjoy as your own sandless "rooftop-beach". Our communal kitchen is on the terrace also, fully equiped, whether you're into making a meal from scratch, or heating up leftovers. There are also a few little nooks if you're looking to read or have an afternoon siesta. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching.
Escape the daily grind, and relax in a place that makes you feel like you've been returning for years. Enjoy the bliss of doing nothing, and having everything within reach. Isla Mujeres is all about the indulgence to actually do what you want to do. You're on holiday - and you deserve it!
Sleep in, spend the afternoon reading in a hammock. Work on your tan. Take a stroll to one of the many little cafes for a wonderful brunch. Cruise the beautiful beaches in search of shells and sea-glass. Browse the vast shops, vendors and artesans. Experience the colors and flavors of the island. Rent a mask and snorkel and discover the reef. Enjoy excellent live music and entertainment on Hidalgo. Try a new restaurant every night, or go back to the ones you love. Go for a wonder in the cool of the evening along the sea wall or for ice cream or gelato. Take part in the celebrations, food and dancing. Dive into being a part of the friendly, vivacious island culture. And......if you have a few too many, take comfort that it's just a short walk back to your room.
