When we renovated our hotel, we wanted to create some great outside areas for both sun and shade seekers, but we also wanted to try to capture some of the magic of the island within our own little space. We are proud to share the features that make Las Palmas especially relaxing and welcoming for a week or a month.....let time disappear for awhile.

Hotel Las Palmas features our beautiful, private terrace on the roof with a refreshing dipping pool, which is open 24 hours a day. Our rooftop is spacious enough to provide areas of quiet to read, or spots to greet the morning sun while doing your yoga. Hammocks sway in the gentle ocean breeze, tempting an afternoon siesta. There are tables and chairs for afternoon guacamole or happy hour! Soak in the sun on our padded sun-lounges or find shade on our new beach bed. Many of our guests have expressed their appreciation of the private rooftop as a great alternative to the sand and salt of the beach. Catch a breath-taking island sunset just steps away from your room. There are several power stations for those who want their music or laptop available while still enjoying the view. The pool is light at night and all the lamp posts can be turned on or off to create the atmosphere you want, to enjoy the night air. Luckily, mosquitoes are a rarity!

Our courtyard is a haven for morning conversation over a cup of good coffee. Many guests enjoy coming down from their rooms to meet each other and chit-chat about travels or plans before going out on their daily adventures. Our guests themselves create an interesting international flavor to Las Palmas. Travelers of all ages and backgrounds; couples, families and singles; working and retired; arriving from every continent. Some are here only for a few days between other jaunts and others stay for a few months. Diversity is what they share. Many guests have found new friends, shared golf carts and meals. Laugh, listen and share your stories, if you choose. If you're not into socializing, don't worry, we have many areas and 'nooks' throughout our hotel for those who seek solitude. Feel free to browse our book-nooks and magazines and use the dominoes, games and playing cards during your stay. Get in touch with home on your laptop or device with our free wireless internet. We even have take-out menus from many of the local restaurants, or you can also have lunch delivered from right across the street from the loncherias.

Hotel Las Palmas has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The feeling is comfortable and homey, and our location is unbeatable. During the day, our street (Guerrero) feels like a friendly local neighborhood, which includes a golf cart rental, post office, the municipal market, loncherias and even a Mexican cantina! All of these business establishments close before sundown, which makes for a sleepy, quiet street in the evening. We're a block from the ocean and beaches and a half a block from Hidalgo Ave (the main street full of restaurants and live music). We are a short walk from the main grocery store and the town square where there's often celebrations going on.

Our courtyard is also our casual reception. One of us, or maybe the whole family will be there to welcome you and answer your questions. Our English is great, our Spanish is improving and we're working on the basics of several other languages. We have maps and travels guides to help you plan trips, or can offer our personal experience on where to go, what to do and what to eat, if you've never been to Mexico or the island before. If you're just into doing your own thing, grab a beach towel and be on your way. Your vacation is about what you want!
